Luxury wall coverings for the bedroom
10 May 2022
The bedroom plays a special role in every home. It is a place where you can relax, do nothing or share good times with your partner. This requires a warm atmosphere so that you can relax optimally and enjoy coming back.
With the right wallcoverings, you can instantly give a bedroom a warm feeling. Wall textiles in rich fabrics such as velour and silk are ideal for making this space feel like a warm bath, an oasis of peace in your home.
If it is luxury that you are looking for in the bedroom, the Dutch Walltextile Company (DWC) is happy to serve you. We are also happy to help you furnish chic hotel rooms with our materials.
Our high-quality wallcoverings not only look warm but also feel wonderfully soft and have a sound-absorbing effect, for extra peace and quiet where you need it most. Find the perfect fabric and color shades in our extensive collection of wall textiles.
Why is wall covering in the bedroom important?
When it comes to interior design, a lot of attention is logically paid to the living room and the kitchen; after all, these are the eye-catchers that attract attention when entering. However, the bedroom is less in sight and is therefore sometimes neglected, which is not justified.
A bedroom is much more than a place you come to simply to sleep. This is where we relax after a long day, lie down on a morning off and share beautiful moments with our loved ones. The furnishings should reflect this. The wall behind the bed is a good spot for this, but it is also nice to cover all the walls. However you apply it, luxury wall covering does much for the bedroom and offers several advantages.
Atmosphere and elegance
High-quality wallcoverings give a room instant flair. With luxury wall textiles made of velour, silk, or linen, for example, and warm shades, you create a warm atmosphere in the bedroom and an elegant look that is perfect for a chic villa or hotel room. Thus, you create a room that invites you to stay there longer and make the bedroom a fully-fledged player of the interior.
Improved acoustics
Let’s be honest, bedrooms are usually not just used for sleeping. Whether we are celebrating love with our partner, watching an exciting film, or playing relaxing music, it’s nice to be sure that the neighbors or fellow residents hear as little of it as possible.
Wall textiles are perfect for keeping the bedroom intimate, thanks to the acoustic effect of these fabric wallcoverings. Sounds reflect less for pleasant acoustics and do not penetrate as easily outside the room.

Less outside noise, more peace and quiet
Obviously, quietness is one of the most important factors a bedroom should provide. Sounds from outside on the street or in the corridor – especially in a historic building – can be quite a disturbance and a cause of sleep problems. Rest assured, with wall textiles as wallcoverings, sounds from outside are muffled and peace and quiet prevail to fall asleep wonderfully relaxed.
Wall coverings for hotel bedrooms
If a bedroom plays a central role anywhere, it is in a hotel. A hotel room, no matter how big or small, cannot do without a pleasant place to sleep. Premium wallcoverings should therefore not be out of place for a true hotel chic look, with great attention to hotel guests’ comfort.

Which material do you prefer?
Wall textiles are a unique type of wall covering. Unlike wallpaper or wall panels, the many different fabrics create just as many styles and textures. Your choice of fabric therefore strongly determines the final look of the bedroom.
For example, do you opt for jacquard woven textiles, with their unusual patterns? Or do you prefer the velvety touch of a velour wallcovering? Otherwise, check out our rich silk wallcoverings or elegant linen.

Define the character of the bedroom with colour
The colours used for wall coverings also play a big role for the bedroom. Dark shades, for example, create a warm, intimate atmosphere, which is often desired for a bedroom. However, if you want the room to feel light and fresh, choose lighter shades. In addition, blue is a common color for bedrooms, as it has calming characteristics for optimal relaxation. Also check out what color combinations you can create with our wall textiles for magical results.

Many wall finishes are quite hard, they don’t have the same tactility as wall textiles, the “caressability” is missing. Wall textiles make the space more intimate and distinctive. It gives the wall a soft, tactile texture that you could never create with any other kind of material.”
