Colour Trends For 2021

Colour Trends For 2021

Last year was a year like no other. With many people spending more time working from home, colour has once again come to the forefront of well-designed interiors.

Locked down at home, there’s currently a surging trend for colour that takes you on a journey around the world. Interestingly, many designers are choosing to combine and contrast intense colour palettes with more soft and neutral tones.

Here at Dutch Walltextile Company (DWC), we have the added advantage of producing exceptional wallcoverings: richly tactile textures as well as vibrant and luxurious colour tones. Not only that, but our collaboration with pioneering designers like Osiris Hertman means we’re always able to offer wallcoverings that are both exquisite and unique.

So for 2021, at DWC we’ve expanded our existing collections with new and exciting colour palettes, reflecting our colour trends for 2021. So what are those trends? Let’s take a closer look.

Caribou

Our ever popular and exceptionally luxurious Caribou collection has received a 2021 update with the introduction of royal blue. This new colour reflects the calming effect of nature and works in partnership with the thick, velvet jacquard to create a soothing undertone.

The arrival of mocha brown also creates earthy, yet elegant, sophistication. The collection is completed by further neutral tones – with a snow white colour providing a more contrasting effect, like the bark of a silver birch tree, and pearly white giving an even richer, deeper feel to the fabric.

Boogie Woogie

A number of new colours have been incorporated into our popular Boogie Woogie collection. The nature of chenille’s texture really lends itself to a range of natural tones. However, to bring about a sense of unity between the natural and manmade worlds and for an even deeper feeling of luxury, we’ve combined this new colour palette with a gold background.

Like our Caribou collection, you’ll now find a rich blue velvet and you’ll also discover darker more earthy tones – like emerald green, pink, and apricot. And for a truly luxurious and unique finish, our deep black on gold makes a daring statement.

Dune

Finally, DWC is delighted to be working with luxury designer Osiris Hertman. Specialising in pushing the boundaries of all-round design, Osiris seeks to bring unity to architecture and interiors.

Osiris’ carefully assembled team includes product designers, interior designers, and architects. They design for private residences as well as corporate and commercial spaces – such as showrooms.

With the Dune ‘Traces Of Wind’ wall textile collection by Osiris Hertman, there’s a real integration of modern tones with natural textures. The texture design is based on the traces of wind left imprinted on a sandy beach whilst the expanded colour palette seems to effortlessly combine calming neutral tones with urban elegance.

So whatever your project, now’s the time to explore our expanded range of onpoint colours for our luxurious wallcoverings.
